We talked about growth, leadership, systems, visibility, and what it really takes to build something that can evolve without losing its heart. I walked away feeling challenged, inspired, and deeply grateful. As therapists, we talk often about the importance of support, connection, and not having to navigate difficult seasons alone. I have realized that the same is true in business. Building a practice can feel incredibly isolating—especially when you are responsible for making decisions that affect not only you, but also your therapists, your clients, and the overall experience you are trying to create. Authentic Growth Counseling has grown significantly, and with that growth comes a new level of responsibility. I am no longer only thinking about providing meaningful therapy. I am also thinking about how we create better systems for our therapists, how we make the client experience feel seamless and personal, and how we continue building a practice that feels boutique, warm, and intentional. For me, growth is not about becoming bigger simply for its own sake. It is about becoming better. It means making sure our therapists feel supported, rested, and able to focus on the work they do best. It means creating thoughtful systems behind the scenes so that clients feel cared for from the moment they first reach out. It means protecting the warmth and humanity of therapy while strengthening the structure that ensures that experience remains consistent. And none of that happens in isolation. Being in a room with other business owners reminded me of the power of collaboration. Some of the most valuable conversations were not about having all the answers. They were about sharing experiences, asking better questions, and learning from people who see business through a completely different lens. Someone else’s perspective can help you recognize an opportunity you have been overlooking, rethink a system that is no longer working, or finally take action on an idea you have been carrying for months. That is what happens when we allow ourselves to be in rooms where we are both challenged and inspired. If you have been considering attending a networking event, joining a professional community, working with a business coach, or investing in an experience that could help you grow, this is your reminder: invest in yourself. It can feel uncomfortable to spend money on something before you know exactly what the return will be. It can also feel intimidating to walk into a room where you do not know anyone or where other people may appear further along than you. But sometimes the investment is not only in the information you receive. It is in the relationships you build, the confidence you develop, and the version of yourself you become after allowing yourself to take up space in that room. You do not have to be fully ready. You do not have to have the perfect introduction or the most established business. You simply have to be willing to show up, stay curious, and let yourself learn. Growth requires us to move beyond what is familiar. It asks us to be honest about what is working, what needs to change, and where we may need support. I returned to Authentic Growth Counseling with new ideas, renewed clarity, and an even stronger commitment to creating a practice that feels intentional at every level—for our clients, our clinicians, and the community we are continuing to build.
