Intensives
deeper work

Focused time for the healing that matters most.

Focused, time efficient therapy for high functioning professionals and couples who want meaningful progress without committing to ongoing weekly sessions. Choose a 90 minute intensive or a half day with a restorative break built in.

Limited availability each month.
Why an intensive

Deep work, on your schedule.

Built for full calendars

Instead of fitting therapy into a lunch hour every week, intensives concentrate the work into focused blocks of time planned around your career and commitments.

An alternative to ongoing therapy

For those who would rather not commit to long term weekly sessions, intensives offer a focused, contained way to work on what matters most.

Room to go deeper

No stopping just as the work begins to open up. Longer sessions leave space to go deeper, build momentum, and close with care.

Two ways to begin

EMDR intensives

Who we support

EMDR can help when difficult experiences stay stuck in the mind and body, showing up as triggers, intrusive memories, irritability, numbness, or trouble sleeping. Intensives are especially helpful for people whose roles or schedules make weekly therapy hard to sustain.

Experiences we help with

  • Sexual trauma and assault
  • Relationship trauma and betrayal
  • Narcissistic and emotional abuse
  • Grief, loss, and traumatic loss
  • Vicarious and secondary trauma
  • Critical incidents and trauma on the job
  • Accidents and medical trauma
  • Childhood and intergenerational trauma
  • Anxiety and burnout rooted in past experiences

People we often support

  • First responders, including police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and dispatchers
  • Healthcare workers, nurses, and physicians
  • Therapists, social workers, and other helping professionals
  • Military members and veterans
  • Educators and school staff
  • Attorneys, executives, and high functioning professionals
  • Caregivers carrying more than they show

Vicarious trauma

When your work means witnessing other people's pain, it can leave its own mark. Vicarious trauma, also called secondary traumatic stress, can show up as exhaustion, detachment, hypervigilance, or carrying images from work long after the day ends. An EMDR intensive offers focused space to process what you have absorbed, so you can keep doing the work you care about.

For first responders

Rotating shifts and unpredictable schedules can make weekly therapy hard to keep. Intensives can be planned in focused blocks around your rotation, giving you dedicated time to process critical incidents and the stress that builds over a career of showing up for others.

Every intensive is tailored to you. Here is a gentle picture of how a 90 minute session and a half day might unfold.

trauma healing

EMDR Intensive

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a structured, research supported therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they feel less charged in the present. It follows eight phases. Phases one and two happen during your consultation and preparation, so your intensive time is spent where it matters most.

01
History and Treatment Planning

We learn your story and identify the memories, triggers, and goals to focus on.

02
Preparation

You build grounding and calming skills so processing feels safe and contained.

03
Assessment

We identify a target memory and the image, belief, emotions, and body sensations connected to it.

04
Desensitization

With bilateral stimulation such as eye movements, tapping, or tones, the memory is processed until it feels less distressing.

05
Installation

A more adaptive, positive belief about yourself is strengthened.

06
Body Scan

We notice and clear any remaining tension or sensation in the body.

07
Closure

Every session ends with grounding so you leave feeling settled.

08
Reevaluation

When we next meet, we review your progress and decide what to focus on next.

Encounter centered Couples Therapy (EcCT)

Developed by Hedy Schleifer, a longtime Imago Relationship Therapy trainer, EcCT is inspired by Imago and the philosophy of Martin Buber. It centers on three invisible connectors: the Space, the Bridge, and the Encounter. Partners take turns crossing the bridge to visit each other's world with full presence and curiosity. Schleifer found that traditional 50 minute sessions were often not enough for couples to truly connect, which makes this approach a natural fit for intensive work.

90 minutes

A focused session

First 15 min
Arrive and slow down

Settle in, connect with presence, and set an intention together.

Next 60 min
The encounter

With guidance, one partner crosses the bridge to visit the other's world, listening deeply and reflecting back.

Final 15 min
Reflection

Share what you noticed and choose one way to carry the connection home.

Half day

A deeper day together

Opening
Arrive and slow down

Settle in and prepare the space between you.

First block
The first crossing

One partner visits the other's world through guided, present listening.

Break
Restorative pause

Time to rest, hydrate, and reset before continuing.

Second block
The second crossing

Partners switch, so each person has the experience of being fully seen.

Closing
Integration

Reflect on the encounter and create a plan for staying connected.
